No Worries, We’ve Got Answers

Your guide to how Bonza runs its fair dinkum draws.

What is Bonza Lottery?

Bonza is a community-driven Aussie lottery platform. We run small, capped-entry draws where most of the prize pool goes straight back to the winner. It’s a fun, low-cost alternative to big traditional lotteries.

How do the draws work?

Each draw has a set entry price and a maximum number of tickets. Once the draw closes, we use a trusted third-party randomisation service (Random.org) to select a winner. The prize is based on the number of entries, capped at $5,000.

What states can play Bonza Lottery?

Bonza Lottery is currently open to residents of: Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia and Northern Territory. If you're over 18 and live in one of these places, you’re good to go!

Why can’t people in ACT enter?

We’d love to include everyone — but right now, ACT has stricter rules for competitions and prize draws. They require permits even for smaller prizes, which doesn’t fit our low-cost, community-first model just yet. We’re working on it, though — and hope to open things up to people in the ACT soon!

What draws can I enter?

We currently run four types of draws: Mini Bonza – $5 per ticket (max 1,000 entries) Mid Bonza – $10 per ticket (max 500 entries) Big Bonza – $20 per ticket (max 250 entries) XL Bonza – $50 per ticket (max 100 entries)

How much can I win?

Winners take home 85% of the total prize pool, up to a maximum of $5,000. Bonza keeps the other 15% to cover operating costs (like Stripe payment fees).

When are draws held?

Every Thursday night. Winners are announced right here on the site after each draw and listed permanently on our Winners page.

How do I know the draw is fair?

We use Random.org, a third-party randomisation service that’s widely trusted. This ensures each draw is completely random and transparent — no funny business.

How do I enter?

Simply pick your draw, purchase a ticket through our secure Stripe Checkout, and you’re in. You’ll see updates on the website for how many tickets have been sold and the current prize pool.

What happens if not all tickets sell?

That’s fine! The prize pool simply scales to the number of tickets sold. For example, if a $10 Mid Bonza draw sells 200 tickets, the total pool is $2,000, and the winner takes home 85% ($1,700).

How do I get paid if I win?

If you’re the lucky winner, we’ll contact you directly using the details from your Stripe entry and pay your prize via bank transfer.

Is Bonza Lottery safe?

Yep. Payments are handled securely via Stripe, and results are posted publicly so everything stays transparent.

Do you guarantee I’ll win?

Nope. Like any lottery, wins aren’t guaranteed. Only one ticket wins each draw, so please only enter for fun — never as a way to make money.

Can I enter multiple tickets?

Yes, you can buy more than one ticket in a draw, but each draw has a maximum number of total entries available.

What makes Bonza different from big lotteries?

We keep it simple, affordable, and community-driven. Smaller entry caps mean better odds than traditional lotteries, and the prize pools are fully transparent. Think of it as a fair dinkum, Aussie-sized lottery.

Where can I see past winners?

Check out the Winners Page on our site — all results are published there after each draw.
